More Information about food insecurity:
-
1 in 3 households with children in Massachusetts report child-level food insecurity.
-
There are no state or federal programs to help with the purchase of diapers. SNAP and WIC are for food only, so the 75,000+ diapers we distributed last year provide critical relief to families with small children.
-
Food is the #1 material in U.S. landfills & wasted food is valued at $444B annually. This is why we have committed to rescuing as much high quality, nutritious food as possible - 1/3 of everything we distributed in FY24 was rescued (93,000+ lbs.)
-
27% of everything we distribute is fresh produce and meat.

Want to Donate Using Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)?
What is a donor-advised fund?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals.

Did You Know?
We purchase about 9,000 lbs. of food from the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) monthly. Our funds go much further when we are able to buy through the GBFB. Unfortunately, not all items are available through the GBFB and we have to shop locally each week to fill in the gaps (ex. cereal, pasta sauce, rice & pasta sides, Mac & cheese, mayo, snack items, diapers, wipes, paper towels, toilet paper).
We are a 100% choice pantry. This means our clients have a full shopping experience when they visit our pantry, and they are able to choose from a wide variety of items every week so that they go home with exactly the groceries their family needs. We do not offer any pre-packed bags because we know that no two families have the same needs, and we also understand the importance of the dignity of choice.
