Building a Dedicated Home for Food Access in Medway

The Medway Food Pantry is creating a dedicated, unified home for food access at 74 Main Street in Medway.

Construction is underway, and we hope to open the new space in late summer. This permanent home will bring Medway’s two all-volunteer food pantries together as one coordinated pantry, allowing us to serve neighbors more efficiently, consistently, and with dignity.

For years, both Medway food pantries have operated out of temporary, pop-up spaces. These spaces have allowed volunteers to serve the community with compassion, but they have also limited our capacity, storage, food recovery, hours of operation, and ability to connect clients with additional support.

As food insecurity continues to rise, this project will help ensure Medway residents have reliable access to nutritious food now and in the future.

Why This Matters

A dedicated pantry space will allow us to:

  • Serve more Medway residents efficiently and consistently

  • Bring both Medway pantries together into one unified home

  • Reduce barriers for neighbors without transportation

  • Increase storage, refrigeration, and food recovery capacity

  • Provide a more dignified, appointment-based, market-style experience

  • Create space for additional support services, including help applying for SNAP, fuel assistance, housing assistance, and other resources

About the New Space

Our new home at 74 Main Street will give the Pantry the room and infrastructure needed to better meet the growing needs of the community.

The space is being designed to support client choice, improve operations, expand food recovery, and create a welcoming environment where neighbors can access food and support with dignity.

How You Can Help

We are currently raising funds through Nourishing Our Future, our capital campaign to support the build-out and equipping of the new space.

Your gift will help fund the improvements needed to open the pantry, including storage, refrigeration, client service areas, accessibility, safety improvements, and operational infrastructure.

There are many ways to give, including:

  • One-time gifts

  • Pledges paid over time

  • Donor-advised funds

  • Stock gifts

  • Employer charitable giving programs

  • Matching gifts

Donors contributing $5,000 or more may be recognized on the Hearts of the Pantry Donor Wall inside the new facility, if they wish.
