I am honored to be running my first Falmouth Road Race for the Medway Village Food Pantry! My running journey began in 2021 when I signed up for the Chicago Marathon as a way to honor the memory of my brother who passed in 2017 as a result of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). As part of the Danny Did Foundation, I trained, raised funds, and ran Chicago to support kids living with epilepsy. I ran Chicago again in 2022 for Team Danny Did, and then the Denver Colfax Marathon in 2023 raising funds and awareness to end domestic violence in memory of my sister. For me, running is therapeutic - a way to set the world down for a little while (or a long while if you are a slower runner like I am!), and just be present.
Running for the Medway Village Food Pantry allows me to give back to a community that has cared for our family through really challenging times. Food insecurity impacts so many people, and MVFP ensures that anyone in Medway can get the support they need when they need it - whether that's through one visit to the pantry or over a sustained period of time. On Saturday mornings, you'll find my dad - Grandpa Raff - helping greet clients and get them ready to shop. I've started joining the Friday set-up crew and love spending that hour with fellow volunteers helping prep for the next day's shopping.
Medway is our home and this community is our family, and we take care of one another. Thank you for your support!

Medway is a town of contributors. People give their time, energy, and resources to support their neighbors. I see it all the time in the countless hours that volunteers dedicate to Medway basketball and baseball, among other activities for our kids.
Fund- and awareness-raising for the Medway Village Food Pantry is one more way to give back to a community that has given our family so much. Which is why I am honored to run alongside 8 amazing neighbors and one awesome wife for the 7-mile course in Falmouth to raise much-needed funds for the pantry. All of the money raised will be used to purchase food, diapers, and personal care items.

I am excited to announce that I'll be running the Falmouth Road Race in support of a cause dear to my heart! Medway Village Food Pantry. Growing up, I was inspired by my father's decade-long dedication to volunteering at our local food pantry. His commitment to service and community instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility to give back. Running has been my personal outlet for connection and grounding since college, and I firmly believe in the transformative power of community.
As a resident and community-based social worker in Medway, MA, I've witnessed firsthand the increasing impact of food insecurity on our community. Did you know that in Massachusetts, 1 in 11 homes are affected by food insecurity?
It's important to understand the critical importance of organizations like Medway Village Food Pantry in supporting our neighbors in need. By participating in the Falmouth Road Race, I aim to raise awareness and funds to ensure that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food.
Your support can make a real difference in the lives of those struggling with food insecurity in Medway. Thank you for joining me in supporting the Medway Village Food Pantry.

This will be my first time running The Falmouth Road Race. I ran my first race last year. My wife, Jo-Ann, who is also running Falmouth, convinced me to run the Denver Colfax Urban 10-Miler to help end domestic violence with Team Katie. I discovered running is one of the few forms of exercise that I actually enjoy!
I'm proud to support all of our friends and neighbors who volunteer at MVFP. They provide support for so many families in our community. Last year, they provided over 186,000 meals. Amazing!

Though I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, I've lived in Massachusetts for the past 17 years. I moved from South Boston to Medway eight years ago with my husband, David. We have two wonderful daughters, Cecelia (9) and Evelyn (7), and a kooky Australian cobberdog, Dante. I've taught 8th grade English language arts in Framingham for the past 16 years. Though I have dabbled on and off with running my entire adult life, I only ran my first race last year, when I ran the Denver Colfax Urban 10-Miler to help end domestic violence as part of the amazing Team Katie. I am terrified about running Falmouth in the August heat, but I'm willing to take on the challenge to raise money for such a great cause. The Medway Village Food Pantry is such an important part of our community, and I'm honored to run as part of this team.

I am so excited to be running this year's Falmouth Road Race in support of the Medway Village Food Pantry! Like may Medway residents, I became familiar with MVFP thanks to the criticial food drives and fundraisers held during the height of COVID-19, and learned about how much support they were providing people. Wanting to do more than just donate, Andrew, our kids and I began volunteering there on Saturday mornings, helping out with food disbursement for the hundred or so families that visited every week. We were so impressed with how dedicated the board and all the volunteers consistently are, and how many of our neighbors they help each and every week! I am so honored to be part of the MVFP Falmouth Road Race Fundraising Team!

I am happy to announce that I will be running the Falmouth Road Race in support of the Medway Village Food Pantry!
My husband Jon and I have lived in Medway for the past 12 years have three daughters (ages 12, 9, and 7). I love Medway and am particularly proud of how our community supports each other in times of need. I’ve been impressed by the many who have dedicated their time and efforts to champion for great causes. I’ve cheered and supported others from the sidelines for years, but I’m ready to do more. I don’t like to put myself out there and I hate cardio, but when my good friend Moira Sharkey asked me to join the MVFP Falmouth Road Race fundraising team, I felt compelled to say “yes!”. I am excited to take on this challenge, support my community, and teach my daughters the importance of giving back and stepping out of your comfort zone.
So I’m lacing up my sneakers and joining 9 other Medway residents as we bring awareness to the food insecurity that exists right here in the town of Medway – a need that continues to grow!

I'm honored and excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race to support the Medway Village Food Pantry. On August 18, 2024, I will be running alongside nine other community members from the Town of Medway to help bring awareness to this cause. 100% of the proceeds will be used to purchase essential items, such as food, diapers, and personal hygiene products.
My goal is to spread awareness of food insecurity and the impact that resources like our own Medway Village Food Pantry have in our communities. Together, we can make a difference by helping provide essential resources to those in need. By participating in this fundraiser, I'm also teaching my two young daughters the importance of helping others and giving back to our community. Stay tuned as the girls and I will be doing small fundraising projects together this summer to also help contribute to this cause.
Let's come together to help our communities and create a brighter future for everyone! No amount donated is too small. Thank you in advance for your help and support! :)

Ryan Tomasetti
Ryan was introduced to the food pantry as a long-time leader in the Medway Scouting program, collecting donations, restocking shelves, and occasionally supporting food distribution. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, he started volunteering on a weekly basis, bringing one or both of his two sons to help where needed. Since March 2023, Ryan has served as an active member of the board of directors. He has lived in Medway since 2005.
